What’s the Buzz?
Created by Mark Le Messurier and Madhavi Nawana Parker
What’s The Buzz is a social skills and emotional literacy program for children of all ages, which supports them to develop a variety of essential interpersonal skills, stimulated by the experiences of a character called Archie.
In each lesson, the children help Archie solve the very same social dilemmas that occur in their everyday lives. As they do this, through activity, discussion, role-play, games, puzzles and quizzes, they learn how to express feelings and become a more positive problem solver.

Can parents be involved?
Parent support is vital. Each parent will be provided with a program book that outlines the content of each session with comprehensive parent notes so new social skills and social thinking can continue to be reinforced at home. This follow up is very beneficial to your child’s learning. Unfortunately, parents are not permitted to sit in on sessions in order to protect the confidentiality of all participants, but we will give adequate feedback on your child’s progress.
You will also receive feedback during your second parent session in Term 3.
Enrolment must be for the full semester
What’s the Buzz? is designed to be a 16 week course that runs over 2 terms. The extended period of time together assists in building connections and consolidating their new learning.
Unfortunately, refunds are not possible for missed sessions. It is helpful if you can let us know in advance if your child is going to miss a session.
All students must have completed one semester of school prior to enrolling in the Early Learner’s Program.
